The Power of Baking Soda

Baking soda is a traditional cleaning product, renowned for its deodorizing and mild abrasive properties. At Naturally Clean, your all natural cleaning service, believes you do not need any harsh chemical to clean a home. Baking soda is an extremely versatile product that has a number of useful properties. Baking soda can be used for the following household tasks:

Cleaning Your Kitchen. Sprinkle a little bit of baking soda on a wet cloth and use it in the kitchen to clean your stove, sink and any other hard to clean areas. The ‘gritty’ texture of baking soda allows you to break down and loosen stuck on food spills in your kitchen, making cleaning those problem areas a whole lot easier.

Keeping Your Fridge Fresh. Add a small bowl of baking soda to your fridge to neutralise odours and keep your food fresh.

Cleaning Your Sink. Pour 200g of baking soda and boiling water down your sink once a week to keep it clear and clean.

Cleaning Your Tupperware. Fill your sink with warm water and add a little bit of baking soda. Place you Tupperware in the sink and let them soak overnight. This will help get rid of any leftover food in your Tupperware containers making them easier to clean.

Maintaining Your BBQ. Sprinkle baking soda on your BBQ grill and let settle. This will help loosen any cooked on food and reduce the amount of scrubbing needed to clean your grill.

Freshening Up Your Surroundings.  Add 4 tbsp. of baking soda to a spray bottle filled with ¾ cup of boiling water – shake well. Allow the solution to cool a little then add your favourite scented essential oils and let it stand. Once the solution has completely cooled spray your clothes and furniture with it for a nice fresh smell.

Cleaning Your Carpets.  Lightly sprinkle your carpets with baking soda and leave it overnight. Vacuum your carpet the next morning. Your carpets will be fresh and clean.

Maintaining Your Toilets. Pour a cup of white vinegar down your toilet, followed by 2 tablespoons of baking soda. Allow mixture to fizz and settle; then flush.

Washing Your Oven. Clean your oven with a paste made from salt, baking soda and warm water. This will make your oven look good as new!

Cleaning Your Thermos. Clean your thermos with baking soda and water. This will get rid of any unwanted food or drink odours left inside your thermos.
